The Tamil Nadu government should recommend handing over the murder case of Hindu Munnani functionary C Sasikumar to the CBI as the state police have failed to zero in on the killers, BJP National Secretary, H Raja said today.
Incidents of murders and attacks on the leaders of various Hindu outfits were on the increase in the last year and the police have failed to get make a breakthrough in these cases, Raja told reporters, after visiting the family of Sasikumar in Thudiyalur.
Considering this, all the cases should be probed by the National Investigation Agency or an inquiry should be ordered into these incidents by a sitting High Court judge, he said.
Stating that more than 400 workers of various Hindu organisations were arrested in connection with the riots and violence during the funeral procession on September 23, Raja said that their relatives were concerned about their whereabouts, as they were lodged in different prisons across the state.
