The administration is taking all steps to supply water once in five days instead of 15 days, according to Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani.
Talking to reporters after a review meeting of progress of various works and also preparedness for MGR Centenary celebrations scheduled for December 3, Velumani said the recent rains in the catchment areas have resulted in majority of reservoirs brimming to full.
“Even Siruvani Dam, the main source for drinking water for the city and suburbs, also reached its full level. The administration is taking steps to release water every five days,” he said.
Deputy Speaker, Pollachi V. Jayaraman, AIADMK MLAs representing city constituencies, District Collector T.N. Hariharan and senior officials from Corporation and PWD attended the meeting.
