13 ISIS activists from Kerala killed by US in Syria

Kochi: Thirteen IS activists from Kerala have been killed in US operations in Syria, according to Police.

The tally will go up to 14 if the killing of one more activist is confirmed. The dead include Shajeer Mangalassery of Kannur who was the king pin in recruiting those from Kerala.

A product of the prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kozhikode, he was behind the operation of two websites ‘Alfadul Khalifa’ and ‘Al Mujahidul’.

Those killed include Hafeezuddin, Yahya, Marwan, Murshid from Kasargodhas, Saleem and Shafnad from Kannur, Mansoor of Vadakara, Makhadil of Malappuram, Abu Tahir and Shibi if Palakkad.

About 80 people from Kerala are at Syria and other places as IS operatives. Women and children are reportedly also part of the IS . Some of the women are spouses of those killed.
