15,960 students appear for NEET, a girl found with duplicate hall ticket in Salem

Coimbatore: A total of 15,960 students appeared for the NEET in 32 centres across the district today.

The students–10,200 male and 5,760 female- were found standing in long queue since 7.30 AM in CBSE schools in the district. The students were allowed only after a rigorous check and removing the style bands tied on the wrists, bracelets and ornaments from female students, amidst tight security.

Meanwhile, the invigilators in Kondalampatti in nearby Salem did not allow a girl student to write the examinations as the hall ticket she was holding was said to be dupllicate, official sources said.

Jeevitha, hailing from Rasipuram was prevented by the authorities, since her name was not registered at the Centre at Choudeshwari College and her hall ticket appeared to be duplicate,they said.

Those came along with the students complained of very poor basic amenities like drinking water at many centres.
