2-day CME workshop for pathologists from Oct 7

The PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research would host a two-day Continuing Medical Education workshop from October 7.

According to a press release from the Department of Pathology, the workshop has been organised to familiarise practicing pathologists and postgraduates in pathology with post-mortem techniques and the interpretation of information derived from a post mortem.

“The CME will impress upon them the potential of post mortem as a gold mine in medicine and the wealth of information that can be obtained from this procedure,” the release said.

Lectures on maternal mortality and analysis of foetal and perinatal deaths both of which are a subject of concern for obstetricians and paediatricians would also be taken up for discussion.

“Experts in the field will discuss and share their expertise in the field of autopsy pathology. The faculty include Dr. D.N. Lanjewar, Professor of Pathology, Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital, Mumbai, Dr. Pradeep Vaideeswar, Professor, Pathology and Dr. Pragati Sathe, Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai, Dr Kusum Jashnani, and Dr. Sweety Shinde, Topiwala National Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai, in addition to faculty of the Department of Pathology, PSGIMSR,” the release added.
