Kochi: Actor Dileep was granted bail by Kerala High Court on Tuesday with tough conditions

He get the bail after being in jail for 85 days in the actor-abduction case. Dileep was arrested on July 10 in connection with case related to giving quotation to abduct a popular South Indian actor and take obscene videos. The third time proved luck to the actor as earlier two attempts went futile in the High Court.

The Angamali Magistrate’s court had also rejected his bail twice. He was asked to surrender his passport, pay
Rs 1 lakh as guarantee, produce two sureties, not to influence the witnesses and appear before police whenever needed among other things.

Dileep got bail as police is all set to file chargesheet on October 7, before he completed 90 days in jail. Under normal conditions, the accused qualifies for natural bail if chargesheet is not filed within 90 days. The investigation team had already filed a chargesheet involving the prime accused Pulsar Suni and his accomplices.

The charges made against Dileep include gang rape, which if proved can send him to 20 years in jail. The only problem faced by the police is their inability to locate the mobile phone used to shoot the obscene pictures of the victim on February 17.

In a rare case, two lawyers of Pulsar Suni, who is said to have destroyed the phone, have been listed as accused.A policeman, who helped Suni to use his phone to contact Dileep, is also one of the accused.
