Coimbatore : AIADMK candidate P Kandasamy Monday filed his nominations for the Sulur assembly constituency bypoll scheduled for May 19.

Similarly G Mayilsamy filed his nominations as Makkal Needhi Maiam candidate, while K Palanisamy entered the fray as a candidate of Tamil Nadu Ilaignar Katchi.

State Municipal administration minister S P Velumani who accompanied Kandasamy denied any dissent in the party over his candidature

Kandasamy will win with a margin of over 50,000 votes, he told reporters.

DMK has fielded former Minister, Pongalur N Palanisamy, who is making all out efforts to wrest the seat from the ruling party.

The bypoll was necessitated due to the demise of the AIADMK MLA, R Kanagaraj.
