Ajith’s Vivegam, which has hit the screens on Friday, has definitely made a buzz in the State.

The movie, to be released in 309 theatres across Kerala (1650 shows), is likely to be a super hit at the box office and even break the record of Bahubali 2, that was released in 315 halls in the State.

Vivegam has come as a gentle breeze in the Malayalam film industry, which is being dogged by certain issues following the arrest of actor Dileep.

A retrospect of his films show encouraging results. Ajith’s Mankatha (2011) was a super hit in Kerala and it helped him to establish a strong fan base. Vedalam (2015) did fairly well the same year. Though it opened with a bang, the collection dropped in subsequent days.

It is reported to have fetched over Rs. 6 crores at the box office.
Yennai Arindhal (2015) managed to fetch Rs. 6.25 crores at the box office, while Veeram was screened at 120 theatres to take on Jilla of Mohanlal and Vijay. Still, it did well.

Aarambam (2013) was received well. It collected about Rs 6 crores at the box office. Though Billa 2 (2012) failed to make an impact at the box office, the distribution rights for the film was sold for a record price.
