Aravind Hospital, in association with Coimbatore District Blind Eradication Society and Shriram Properties, is organising an eye examination camp here on December 17.
The patients who are in need of cataract surgery will be done free of cost after the camp in the hospital and public can visit the camp along with their identification proof for the registration for the camp at Madukkarai on the outskirts.
A team of eye specialists from the hospital will screen persons for eye complications due to diabetes, including retinal diseases and the diabetics and those with high blood pressure can attend the camp for early detection of eye problems.
“The aim of the camp is to provide the best eye care for the public. The screening process uses to detect cataract and glaucoma.
The early detection will save the vision of the people,” a press release from the hospital said today.
Besides elder persons, children who have complications such as refractive power, watering of the eyes and squint, can also participate in the camp, the release added.
