Canara Bank Officers give one lakh each to 25 CRPF Jawans killed in ambush

Canara Bank Officers Association (CBOA) is giving Rs.one lakh each to the families of 25 CRPF soldiers, who were killed in the Maoist ambush in Sukma in Chattisgarh, last month.

The officers, numbering 25,000 across the country have contributed Rs.100 each for this noble cause, the CBOA Chairman, J Vanangamudi told reporters here.

Of the 25, two were hailing from Tamil Nadu, he said. He handed over a DD for Rs.one lakh to Selvi of Coimbatore, whose husband Thirumurugan was killed in the ambush on April 24 last.

The DDs for the amount will be handed over to the respective families by going to their houses, Vanangamudi said.
