Christmas is incomplete without the traditional plum cakes. Celebrate this season with plum cakes and goodies that have been created especially for Christmas and New Year, courtesy K. Naresh Kumar, the proprietor of Kovai KRS Bakery, located on TV Swamy Road West, in RS Puram. “Creating people’s dream cakes is a passion-turned-profession for me. This is the fifth year that we have on display and for sale special cakes made of fresh cream and butter cream, in a variety of flavours,” Naresh tells us.

This year, the city-based baker has some exotic themes. There is Santa Clause in sleigh, a cake with a Christmas star, and a cake depicting baby Jesus in a stable. For those who want simple plain cakes, Naresh has them too.

Creativity meets innovation with the gems cake. This cake is recommended for the Gems aficionados. Gems have been used to decorate this cake, and this one is a real feast for the eyes. When we cut a piece of this cake to taste it, we realize that there are Gems on the inside too!

Cakes apart, this season Naresh offers Christmas desserts like plum pudding, and cupcakes of the same flavour. He has created boxes to match the Christmas season. There are boxes of green and red. For those who like the simple-yet-classy look, we recommend the golden and silver boxes that have been specially created for Christmas.

Naresh tells us that in a couple of days, around 20 inmates of an orphanage home in Coimbatore city will visit his baking unit to witness the Christmas cakes that have been specially baked by him.
