Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu BJP General Secretary, Vanathi Srinivasan Wednesday exuded confidence that the Centre will not act against the wish of the people with regard to Hydro Carbon projects.

Replying to a question on the issue, Vanathi told reporters here that she was sure that any project, including hydro carbon, will not be implemented,by the Centre or State government, if the people are opposing them.

On the drinking water problem, she alleged that DMK president, M K Stalin was raising the issue only to fool the people.

” Is Stalin ready to come out with details of how many water bodies were desilted during DMK rule? DMK is showing double standards as far as water is concerned,” Vanathi said.

Stating that 40 lakh people had joined BJP during its membership drive, through missed call, she said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will kick off the drive this time from his constituency, Varanasi on July six.

” BJP does not belong to any individual or family, unlike Congress which is purely a family party, Vanathi alleged.
