CM honours Padman Arunachalam Muruganandam

Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edapadi K Palanisamy today honoured Arunachala Muruganandam, on whom the Oscar winning best documentary short ‘Period End of Sentence’ was based.

Palanisay, who arrived at the City Airport on his way to Tirupur and Erode, met Muruganandam, who was present there anadorned him with a shawl.

He also handed over a greeting card to Muruganandam, as part of honouring to the city-based Padman.

Muruganandam has revolutionised the system of making napkins by using a simple machine, which provided lakh of women access to hygiene and job opportunities, which also won him the Padashree.
