Sri Ramakrishna hospital announced today that it has acquired a CT, with 16 cm detector and 80 cm bore. This makes the hospital the first in Asia to own one.
The orders for the machine, costing Rs.15 crores, were placed by R. Vijayakumar, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, that runs the hospital, to WIPRO GE Healthcare, the manufacturer of the CT device.
Smart Dose Technologies is a special suite of CT tools that help achieve imaging goals with improved efficiency and expanded applications, at lower radiation levels. The CT scanner can be used for routine and advanced exams, including dynamic acquisitions for perfusion and 4D
studies.
Vijayakumar said that, by installing the CT scan, the hospital was “redefining functional and bio imaging.”
