GRD School of Commerce and International Business of Dr.GRD College of Science is organizing “Creative Streaks”, a competition initiated to develop the creative thinking among the students on various social issues.

The two-day competition will bring to fore not only the talent of the students but also the societal care they carry.

Students of GRD School of Commerce and International Business have set up stalls demonstrating their creative work on various topics including Quality Education, Gender Equality, Affordable and Clean Energy and Climate Action as this year’s theme is GLOCAL GOALS (Global Goals + Local Goals). This year close to fifty teams compete with each other to vie for the most creative brain.

Ibrahim B Mohammed of second year MIB, along with team mates, has set up a stall demonstrating the importance of Tamil culture – ‘Tamizhanda’ is the stall’s title.

Talking to The Covai Post he said, “Ancient Tamil culture has more to it than you think. It is really important to know why we have to be proud about our culture and we educate the same through our stall”.

Vijitha Menon and Riddhi Shah of first year B.Com,who have set up a stall demonstrating gender equality, told us, “When we talk about gender equality, we do not emphasize the importance of treating men equal. And so, we are including that in our attempt”.

The competition gets more interesting with many stalls demonstrating the evils of child abuse, importance of stem cells, global warming and so on. The ‘Swacch Bharat under water’ themed stall is not to be missed.
