Commuters detain 5 state buses protesting against irregular service

Protesting against the alleged irregular services of State owned buses, putting the office goers and students into lot of hardship, some commuters today detained five buses near Vellalore in the city.

Despite complaints, the bus crew were not not bothered to ply the buses on time, by which students were most affected, the residents said.

As the commuters, including students, detained bus at Vellalore, another group stopped four more buses, to take the issue to the attention of higher authorities, police said.

On information, senior transport department officials and police rushed to the spot to convince the agitators.

The commuters warned the authorities to intensify their agitation if the situation remained same. After assurance from the officials to take steps to ply the buses regularly, they withdrew the agitation and dispersed, police said.
