Comprehensive cancer cure centre coming up next year

The Royal Care Super Specialty Hospital here today announced a strategic partnership with Hyderabad-based American Oncology Institute to start a comprehensive cancer care unit.

The unit will become fully functional by July next in the 250-bedded hospital to provide treatment for cancer on international standards and competitive cost, the Institute co-founder and executive director, Joseph A. Nicholas told reporters here.

“The institute, being an end to end provider of high quality cancer treatment services based up on Western standards, will help patients to receive comprehensive evidence based treatment procedures,” he said.

The Hospital and Institute also launched a program called ‘Vidiyal’ that aimed to improve awareness about breast cancer among women in villages in and around Coimbatore.

“A team of experts will travel in a mobile unit to the villages to educate women about self examination for detection of breast cancer, the founder-chairman of Royal Hospital,” Dr. Madeswaran said.
