More than 12000 residents of Subramaniyampalayam Ward 3 need streetlights, sewage system and speed breakers.

P. Selvi, a resident of Balaji Garden, says, “Our house is on the main road and there is no speed breaker on the roads. The vehicles move at very fast speeds and cause frequent accidents. We need at least three speed breakers on this road.” She also complains that the sewage is not being cleaned properly. Mounds of wastage fill the ditches, and worms and mosquitoes breed in them.

Ward member Karupasamy complains, “The street light post at Balaji Nagar is in very bad condition. We don’t know when it will fall. The electrician is afraid to climb the post to change the lights. It has been this way for the past three months. None of the officials takes initiative to solve this.”

Homemaker S. Rangammal says, “For the past six months, I’m trying to change my son’s name in the family ration card. The officials are expecting bribe from me. I’m a widow, but I still haven’t received the state widow pension. I have submitted the documents and forms copies of the scheme but none of the officials takes any steps.”

According to N. Vanithamani, Counsellor of Subramaniyampalayam Ward 3, she has constructed drainage system and an electric graveyard. The government has sanctioned money to construct new roads and renovate the old ones in Periyar Nagar. She has assured that she would look into the problems listed by us on behalf of the residents.
