CPI demands withdrawal of farm bill in Coimbatore protest

Coimbatore: Demanding withdrawal of new Farm Bill, CPI workers today staged a demonstration in the city.

The workers alleged that the new bill will seriously affect the future and livelihood of crores of farmers, who will become poor agricultural labourers under the big corporates and companies.

The bill will deprive the fundamental rights of the farmers and also the MSP available to the produces at present, they said and raised slogans against the Centre, seeking to withdraw the bills.

Meanwhile, a section of CPI workers squatted in front of the Agricutlure Department demanding withdrawal of the bill, in R S Puram.
