Chennai: AIADMK `ousted’ leader TTV Dhinakaran, who claims support of 19 MLAs, on Saturday said that those who want the removal of VK Sasikala from the party will be given a `befitting lesson’.
“The 19 MLAs supporting me are in a resort in Puducherry. They will soon give a befitting lesson to those seeking Sasikala’s removal from the AIADMK,” he said today.
Soon after the merger between the factions of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam, the AIADMK announced that it would convene its party general council meeting to pass a resolution for the removal of Sasikala.
In reaction to Speaker P Dhanapal’s action to serve notice to 19 MLAs invoking anti-defection law, Dhinakaran said his faction `is not afraid of such threats’.
Dhinakaran’s supporter and legislator Thangatamiselvan, who is among the 19 MLAs staying in the resort, said that if the Governor failed to take action and remove the Chief Minister, his group will approach the President on this issue.
