Gang attacks and robs from Tasmac shops

Thanjavur: In a daring act, a gang of three attacked the salesmen of two different Tasmac outlets in Thanjavur late this evening and stole a total of Rs 1.70 lakh.

A youth entered the cash counter of the Tasmac shop located at Vilar bypass this evening and bought liquor after tendering Rs 100. Then, two more youth entered the counter, assaulted the salesman namely Rajkumar and fled after taking Rs 1.25 lakh from the cash box.

In another incident, the same group entered a Tasmac shop located on the Thanjavur railway junction premises on the pretext of buying liquor and looted Rs 44,570 and escaped after attacking its salesman Sasikumar.

On being informed, Tasmac officials and police rushed there and conducted an inquiry. Thanjavur South police have registered a case and further investigation is on. Preliminary investigation by police revealed that it was the same gang which robbed money at both Tasmac shops.
