Few trains will be delayed by 10 minutes to half an hour, as Southern Railway is taking up the work of replacing steel girders at road under Bridge No.528 at Madukkarai Railway Station Yard on October 2 and 3.

As the existing steel girders of the Road Over Bridge were found to be corroded they will be replaced with Concrete girders. Since the Bridge enables the crossing of Palakkd–Coimbatore Road beneath the track at the Madukkarai Yard, the road traffic to Coimbatore from the Palakkad-Salem Highway, will be affected during the work, said a Southern Railway press release.

The District Administration has been approached to divert the road traffic through Madukkarai Market Road from the midnight of September 29/30 to October 3 till 2 p.m.

However, no passenger carrying trains will be cancelled on this account, but delayed by 10 minutes to half an hour, it said.
