Two persons entered a house in Mettupalayam and decamped with two gold chains, weighing 11 sovereigns from two women, who were sleeping in the house, in the early hours of today.

The robbers, wearing a black plastic mask, used for helmet, to cover their face, broke open the front door and snatched the chains from Meena and her daughter, who were sleeping inside the room, at knife point, police said.

Though the house owner, a tailor by profession, heard the sound, he thought that some of the family members might have opened the door to answer nature’s call. Further investigations are on.
