It seems like Khiladi Kumar of B’town Akshay Kumar as well as pretty actress Bhumi Pednekar have left no stones unturned for the release of the movie Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Remember the photograph of PM Modi with Akshay Kumar? Yes, apart from interacting with the fans from all over the country, they have also had a word with the highest authority.

On being asked about, what made him choose this film, Akshay said, “I didn’t research about it and nobody asked me to do it but the script was extremely different which was one of the reason to choose this film because we have never seen a film being made at toilet and that too a love story and moreover ,it’s a real life story. And this topic is directly related to us and our health and not only in villages, but cities too face such problems. Also it’s our duty to keep the city clean.”

Bhumi on being asked about the film said, “I think the kind of films that are being appreciated today are high on content and I am happy I get such films.” On her experience being the part of this film, she said, “This has been one of the best experiences of my life and they have put such a brilliant example for a new comer like me. It’s only my second but it was a great privilege to work with them. And it’s been a delight because they are extremely professional and hard working.”

Anupam Kher on being asked about the acceptance of such films said, “I personally feel it’s the golden period of cinema because audience are accepting such films and it’s a tribute to the audience. But scripts were brilliant at all times undoubtedly.” On his take on the movie he said, “This is a film on a subject that deals not only with sanitation issues but also women all over the world and Bhumi has been very courageous to work in it.” He then added that, “This is a movement that should have been started earlier but now when we finally are dealing with such issues, I am happy and have great faith in youth that they’ll be the change.”

Well, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher and Sana Khan in supporting roles. It is a satirical comedy film which revolves around the storyline of a woman, who leaves her husband on the first day of their marriage after discovering that he doesn’t have a toilet. He desperately sets out on a mission to win back his love by standing up to the age-old traditions and values of India. “ It is a subject that needs to be explored. We need to reach out to people in the form of entertainment to drive home a very sensitive and pertinent subject. Hope, they are able to without being the mouthpiece of the government,” says Nish Bhatnagar, Entertainment Journalist.
