Rex Ortho hospital will conduct a national conference on current trends in hip and knee joint replacement at Residency Towers, on December 6. This conference will bring together professionals from the medical fraternity who would discuss the latest trends.

“When all the conservative means like medication, exercises, local applications, braces and injections fail, joint replacements are done as a last option. Joint replacement is a major advancement in the treatment of chronic refractory joint pain. It is recommended for patients for whom conservative medical therapy has failed,”. Dr. C. Rex, Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, Rex Ortho Hospital, told reporters here today.

“Total knee and hip replacement are two common surgeries that reduce pain and improve function and quality of life in patients with knee and hip disorders. Osteoarthritis is the commonest underlying condition for both joint replacements. Other conditions leading to joint replacements include inflammatory arthritis, fracture, dysplasia, malignancy and others,” he added.
