Husband cheats, woman commits suicide

An RDO investigation has been initiated into the alleged suicide of a 23-year-old home maker near Pappampatty in K.M. Patty here on Thursday.
According to police, the deceased J. Saranya from Palladam was married to Jeevanandam from K.M Patty in May. However, the couple had quarrelled frequently as Saranya had come to know that Jeevandam had cheated by lying to her that he was a professor of a private university near Eechanari.
Jeevanandam had further collected gold jewels from his wife and pawned them for money for spending it on himself. Frustrated with his, Saranya had left the house and was staying at her parent’s house in Palladam.
However, Jeevanandam managed to convince her and bring her back to the house. Unable to live in peace, Saranya had reportedly locked her house from inside and hung herself from the ceiling on Thursday at their house in K.M. Patty.
A case has been registered with the Thudiyalur All Women Police Station and the district administration has initiated an RDO enquiry into the issue.
