A group of social activists and residents from Coimbatore today showed their support to the Central Government’s move to ban high value denominations.
Showing their support, the group played the song ‘Vande Mataram’ on the flute in front of the District Collectorate. It also raised slogans in support of the scheme claiming that it would prove effective in eradicating black money from the country.
“This move will ensure that illegal money does not go to terrorists and also curb the stocking of unaccounted money,” said a member.
The members submitted a petition to the District Collector T N Hariharan.
