Despite the controversies and allegations of human rights violations surrounding the Isha Yoga Centre, its founder, Jaggi Vasudev was at the receiving end of lavish praises today from Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

Kiran Bedi, who was participating in the Isha Gramotsava on Sunday, held at the CODISSIA grounds, here in Coimbatore, said that Jaggi should be made the Sports Minister of India.

“India should be happy that we have a person like him amongst us, and I wish that he lives forever and ever,” said the Governor.

Claiming that the Gramotsavam model should be replicated all over the country, as it helped people from the rural areas, the Governor also said that she would be introducing the model in Puducherry within a week.

“Models like these should encouraged, and when right people take them up, they really help in empowering the rural community,” she said.
