Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa is recovered and now only needs recuperation. Her infection is now fully under control, declared Apollo Hospital chairman Pratap C Reddy on Saturday. He told media persons outside the hospital that she was fit to be discharged and it was up to her to decide when she would want to go home.

The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa was rushed to Apollo hospital on the night of September 22 with complaints of fever and dehydration and has been there since then. A team of doctors from Apollo hospital, Delhi’s AIIMS and a specialist from London have been attending on her.

For few days Jayalalithaaa was put on life support systems as well.

Dr Reddy said that Jayalalithaa had received the best possible medical treatment anywhere possible in the globe at the Apollo. The team of specialist doctors- cardiologists, respiratory physicians, consultants for infectious diseases, diabetologist and endocrinologist – treated her.

The party leaders are extremely happy over this development and declare that Amma would soon be home and take charge of the state again.

It may be recalled that finance minister O Panneerselvam was given additional charge of all the portfolios held by the chief minister, till the time she recovers and takes charge of the state again.
