In order to prevent inconvenience to the public, government should construct subways along with public toilets in various places especially those that are congested demanded the members of Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi in a petition to the District Collector Archana Patnaik.

R.S Danapaul Seceretary East Zone said that the places that require a subway include Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, Citra, Hope College, Peelamedu, Lakshmi mills, Ondipudhur, Singanallur, Ramanathapuram, and Olampus.

The petition also demanded the widening of the 100 ft road especially between Masakkipalayam and Vilaankurichi as they connect the main roads of Trichy, Avinashi and Sathy.
Several TASMAC outlets are situated in the main roads of Kalappatti, Avinashi road , Kamarajar road, Trichy, Nanjundapuram, Vilaankurichy and Masakkipalayam and this has been cited as the main reason for accidents. Hence the petition demanded the removal of the shops. The petitionerts also demanded the construction of the SIHS colony flyover.
