Man alleges foul play in son’s death, demands probe

A resident of Rathinapuri today petitioned Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj alleging alleging foul play in his son’s death.

According to T. Shanmugavel, his son S. Karthik Raja, died in an accident on Pollachi Road on November 17 while he was riding with a girl around 8 p.m.

One of his friends had called Shanmugavel on the fateful day claiming that he had received a phone call from the girl saying that Karthik had died after his head hit against a stone.

However, the girl who rode with him escaped without a single injury. “She has given contradictory statements to the police during interrogation,” he said.

In his petition, Shanmugavel requested a thorough investigation by the City Police has he fears that his son could have been murdered. He had filed a similar petition with the city police.
