Man arrested for assaulting duty doctor

A 33-year old man was arrested on charges of assaulting the Mettupalayam government hospital duty doctor who was treating his wife.
Shivakumar, during a quarrel at home, had hit and injured his wife Hamsaveni last night. She was hospitalized and was being treated by the duty doctor, Satheesh Kumar, when Shivakumar arrived and resumed quarreling with his wife. The doctor tried to intervene and Shivakumar’s ire turned on him. He verbally abused the doctor, threatened him of dire consequences if he treated his wife, and then hit the doctor during the tussle that broke out.
Based on the complaint filed by the doctor, Shivakumar was arrested and remanded to 15 days custody.
