Man consumes cow dung powder, dies

A 47-year-old man committed suicide by consuming yellow cow dung powder with alcohol. Childlessness is being cited as the reason why he took this extreme step.
According to sources, the deceased M. Murugan was living with his wife, M. Selvi (40), at the New Housing Unit in Amman Kulam. The couple had been married for 25 years, but they do not have children. A depressed Murugan took to drinking.
Frustrated with his dependence on alcohol, Murgan reportedly drank alcohol mixed with yellow cow dung powder. He died at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
A case has been registered with the Ramanthapuram Police station and investigations are on.
