National Conference on transformational impact of AI in Banking, Finance and Insurance sectors was held on 24 September 2024 at PSG College of Arts and Science by the Department of Commerce (Banking and Insurance). The Conference was designed for Industrial Experts, Academic and Research Professors, Research Scholars, Post graduates and Under graduates all over India to enhance their knowledge of AI in the fields of Banking, Finance and Insurance sectors.

INAUGURAL SESSION
The National Conference commenced at 9.30 am with prayer song followed by the welcome address given by Dr R Geethalakshmi, Convenor, Head and Associate Professor Department, B.Com (Banking and Insurance), PSG college of Arts and Science. Dr. V.Venkatachalam, Organising secretary, Assistant professor B.Com (Banking and Insurance) gave a glimpse about the National Conference. The presidential address was delivered by Dr D Brindha, Principal of PSG college of Arts and Science. Proceeding with the release of the ISBN edition copy of the book on the national conference by the dignitaries.

Dr S. Gnana Sugirtham, Associate Professor B.Com (Banking and Insurance) introduced the chief guest Smt. R Kalpana, Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Chennai .The Inaugural address was given by the chief guest about her valuable insights on the importance of AI and benefits of AI in Banking and Financial sectors.

SESSION I – AI Drive and Finance: Enhancing Decision Making and Operations
The session started by welcoming and introducing the guest speaker by
Dr V Venkatachalam, organising secretary, Assistant Professor, B.Com (Banking and Insurance). Followed by an informative interaction by Chief Guest CA. Kurian V john, Charted Accountant, Assistant professor, St. Stephen’s College, Kottiyam whose deliberations focused on AI Drive and Finance: Enhancing Decision Making and Operations. The discussion included 7 Dimensions of AI in Finance and their helping software. The session was very interesting and interactive with excellent participation from the participants.The session was ended by the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. A. Nandha Kumar, Chairperson, III B.Com (Banking and Insurance).

SESSION II – Integrating AI for Personalized Banking, Customer Service and Fraud Prevention
The session started with the welcome address and guest introduction by Dr D. Anitha, Assistant Professor B.com (Banking and Insurance). The Chief Guest Dr N. Kavitha Professor REVA University Bengaluru, inculcated her valuable thoughts and knowledge about integrating AI for personalized Banking, Customer Service and Fraud Prevention. The new awareness on open banking for personalized financial planning, 24/7 support for the Banking and Financial sectors. The session ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Kaviya Priya Chairperson, III B.Com (Banking and Insurance).

SESSION III – Insurance – Cyber Security: Its Functions and Potential Directions
The Post lunch session continued with the welcome address and guest introduction given by Dr S Gnana Sugirtham, Associate Professor PSG college of Arts and Science. Dr S Dhanaraj Dean –academics carrierTiQ solutions Pvt ltd Chennai shared his views on Insurance – Cyber Security: Its Functions and Potential Directions. He gave a brief introduction about cyber security in insurance sector. He shared his experience with real life examples involving cyber security in insurance. The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. M Alaguvel raj of II B.Com (Banking and Insurance)

SESSION IV – AI: The Future is Now- Redefining Possibilities
The session started by Dr. D. Anitha, Assistant Professor B.com (Banking and Insurance) welcoming the Guest speaker Dr. L. S .Shridhar, Associate Professor St. Joseph’s College,Bengaluru .The speaker gave valuable insights on AI: The Future is Now- Redefining Possibilities. The session concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. R Saniya of II B.Com (Banking and Insurance).

VALEDICTORY SESSION
The Valedictory session started with the welcome address and reading of the Conference report by Dr.R Geethalakshmi convenor ,Head and Associate professor department of B.Com Banking and Insurance PSG College of Arts and Science. The participants were awarded with certificates . The active participation from the members of various colleges made the conference a grand success. The conference came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr.V.Venkatachalam.
