A refresher course on plant parasitic
nematodes has commenced at the Department of Nematology, Tamil
Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here.
The 10-day course, which began yesterday, was under the aegis of
All India Coordinated Research Project on Nematodes in Cropping
Systems, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, and was
inaugurated by C.R. Ananda Kumar, Acting Vice Chancellor of TNAU.
Stating that Plant Parasitic Nematodes reduced the crop
productivity by around 30 per cent, Ananda Kumar highlighted
the necessity to manage these nematodes using biological methods.
He released the course, a varsity release said today.
