Coimbatore : A newborn baby was found abandoned today at a farm in Kavundampalayam this morning.

The farm owners heard the cries of a baby and found and took it home and given milk as a first aid to the baby, the umbilical chord of whose was intact, police said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and took the baby to a private hospital for treatment and admitted to the govenrnment hospital for further care.

Suspecting that this could be the child of unwed woman, police are going through the CCTV footage to find out the person who had abandoned the baby, they said.
