Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker and AIADMK leader M Thambidurai today said there was no split in his party as made out to be.

A group of 10 MLAs cannot split a party and the AIADMK is intact, he told mediapersons. The by-election in R K Nagar was postponed not due to split, but on reported bribing of voters, he added.

About the reported exit of VC Arukutty, MLA, from the O Paneerselvam camp, he said that it could be his own decision and there was no compulsion from anybody to come out from the faction.

It was an indication that MLAs like Arukutty wanted to strengthen the government as also the party, founded by M G Ramachandran and strengthened by Jayalalithaa, he said.

Regarding actor Kamal Haasan’s entry into politics, Thambidurai said that anybody, for that matter actors too come to politics. And corruption charges should be proved, he added.
