Irked by the alleged pro-lesbian storyline of the movie ‘Thiraiku Varadha Kathai’, directed by Thulasidas and starring veteran actress Nadhiya, a Coimbatore-based social activist has petitioned the district administration against the movie today.

Petitioning District Collector TN Hariharan, Zakir Hussain from the Rana Social Service Organisation has claimed that while many protested against the ‘Beep’ song by Simbu and Anirudh, they failed to raise their voice against this movie, which was released last Friday.

“The makers of the film say that the movie has only women characters, but they have failed to realise that men and children will also watch the movie,” Hussain said. He added that the movie would create a wrong impression among children.

Complaining that such movies should not be allowed as they are a shame to society, Hussain opined that authorities should be sensitive enough to block such movies. “Movies like these will make way for more such movies in the future and should be banned,” added the petitioner.
