Police have sought the cooperation of the general public to nab over 30 suspected Maoists who have reportedly infiltrated Kerala and the Nilgiris forests in Tamil Nadu.
A big flex board displaying the photographs of the 32 absconding Maoists, of which few are women, has been placed at the Kakkanalla check post on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, police said.
The board was placed on account of the infiltration of five suspected Maoists who held a secret meeting in a village in Kerala near the Tamil Nadu border; there was also exchange of fire between the extremists and Thunderbolt forces of Kerala last month, they said.
In view of this, the department along with the forest department has placed the board so that people can identify the absconding Maoists with their photograph and inform the police.
