Railway track cleaner run over by train

A female casual worker was killed when a train hit her while she was cleaning the track near Podanur.
The victim, 30-year old Rajammal, was cleaning the track between Coimbatore and Podanur this morning. She was so engrossed with her work that she failed to hear the train’s horn or the alarm raised by fellow workers. She was hit by the Erode-Shoranur train. She died instantaneously and her body was thrown away due to the impact.
The body was sent for post-mortem.
