Amid reports that Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would return home soon in good health, London-based doctor Dr. Richard John Beale today visited her at the Apollo Hospitals, where she has been admitted since September 22, to assess her condition.
According to sources, Dr. Beale expressed satisfaction over the improvement in Jayalalithaa’s health. Meanwhile, CPI leader D Pandian and Congress spokesperson Khushbu Sundar today visited the
hospital to enquire the health of the Chief Minister. Speaking to reporters, Khushbu described Jayalalithaa as a source of inspiration for women. She wished her speedy recovery.
On Saturday, Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao visited the Chief Minister. “The Chief Minister is interacting and responding remarkably to the treatment,” a release from the Raj Bhavan said, soon after the Governor’s visit to the hospital.
“Dr. Pratap C. Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals, briefed the Governor in detail about the treatment being given to the Chief Minister,” it said, adding that Dr. Reddy informed Rao that Jayalalithaa is being treated by a team of experts comprising doctors from critical care group of Apollo Hospitals, senior cardiologist, senior respiratory physician, senior consultant (infectious diseases), endocrinologist, diabetologist and dietitians.
