The Salem Division of the Southern Railway has announced special trains between Coimbatore and Nagapattinam and Coimbatore and Panvel in Maharashtra to clear the extra rush.
The Coimbatore-Nagapattinam train with 17 coaches (1 AC 2 tier; 12 non-AC 3 tier; 2 general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van) would leave Coimbatore on September 9. It would reach Nagapattinam via Tiruppur, Erode and Karur.
The Panvel-Coimbatore train would begin its journey on September 10 with the same 17 coaches.
Reservation for the trains would begin on Wednesday, Railway sources said.
However, the Railways is yet to announce the timings of both the trains.
