Rotary Club adopts Panchayat Union Middle School

The Rotary Club of Saibaba Colony adopted the Panchayat Union Middle School of Thondamuthur on World Environment Day. Under the pact, the adoption would be for five years and in collaboration with the parental Rotary Club of Coimbatore West along with the Innerwheel Club of Coimbatore West.

The inauguration of the adoption was done by Rotary Club Coimbatore West secretary Jayakanthan along with the Innerwheel Club secretary Vanithamani Elangovan. They painted the class room before the school reopening to make sure that the students feel fresh. Around Rs 20,000 was spent for the painting and buying equipment and library upkeep.

“This is a step towards providing children with a good and interactive environment,” said Saibaba Colony secretary Sampath. The club had as part of renovating the school, paint it, donate sports kits, fans and lighting material and set up a library with the help of Innerwheel Club of Coimbatore West and Rotary Club of Coimbatore West.

The club will also make efforts to teach students the basics of computer applications and general knowledge under the weekly project Sahasara along with an awareness on hand-sanitising by Dr R Roopa.
