Salem division ticket checking drive yields Rs 21,050

The commercial branch officials along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Salem Division undertook a special ticket checking drive at Erode Junction last night and early this morning.

The drive was carried out by a team of 16 officials under Salem Chief Ticket Checking Inspector M.Rajeshwaran and 15 RPF personnel led by Assistant Security Commissioner Siva Das

It was carried out under instructions from Senior Divisional Manager Viju Vin and 61 cases of ticketless travel were booked and Rs 21,050 was collected as fare and penalty.

Salem Division DRM Hari Shankar Verma lauded the efforts of the teams and instructed them to carry out such surprise checks. He also sought the cooperation of passengers.
