The Coimbatore District Administration invites applications for scholarships from Class XI girl students belonging to the minority communities, under the Central Government’s ‘Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme.’

In a statement, District Collector Archana Patnaik said, “As per the scheme, meritorious girl students who could not afford to continue their studies will be given Rs.12,000. Girl students belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhists, Jain, and Parsi communities can apply for the scheme.”

The applicants should have scored a minimum 55 percent in their SSLC and should be pursuing their higher secondary classes in the academic year 2015-16 at government recognized institutions. The students should submit their applications along with documents like income certificate and affidavit from their school administration.

She has asked the school administrations to send the verified applications to the Maulana Azad Education Foundation. Completed applications should reach the office on or before September 30, 2015.
