A middle aged woman today attempted on her life by cutting her wrist, on the collectorate premises, protesting against the delay in issuing a ration card to her family.
Neena, 35, had come to the collectorate seeking ration card, for which she had applied some seven years ago.
Suddenly she removed a blade and slit near her wrist, resulting in bleeding. Some persons standing nearby managed to tie a cloth around her wrist and asked to leave the place, police said.
Neena claimed she had applied for a ration card after her marriage seven years back and that she was yet to receive it.
However, officials in the collectorate said that there were no proper documents to support her claim.
