Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister, S.P. Velumani today handed over pooja articles to a few priests of small temples, which had no facility to perform day to day worship.

Handing over a set of five articles — brass plate, aarti, bell, karthikai lamp and a hanging lamp — all worth Rs.2,440 to the priests at a function in the famous Koniamman Temple, Velumani said that the Government had identified 10,000 such small and very small temples, to distribute the articles.

Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa had directed to issue such articles for the benefit of priests and also the public, and this target would be met soon, he said.
