The Tamil Nadu unit of Shiv Sena has demanded that the government and the district administration take action against some self-proclaimed godmen who encroach upon forest land and amass wealth.

Specifically targetting the Isha Yoga Foundation at the foothill of Vellingiri hills and the Nithyananda Ashram near Bengaluru and Madurai, the Shiv Sena state organizer Thangamuthukrishnan alleged that the foundation was trying to usurp the forest land, despite government’s notice issued on January 2013. He added that the
foundation continues to encroach on the land and is all set to name it as ‘Jaggi Point’ to attract tourists.

Condemning the intolerance remarks of both A.R. Rahman and film actor Aamir Khan, Thangamuthukrishnan said that the party was ready to “send them off wherever they want to go.”

On the issue of constructing Ram temple at Ayodhya, he said that the BJP was hesitating to take action. He said that the party will hold ‘Angapradakshina’ protests against the BJP’s attitude.
