Tamil film actor, Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu has sought one month time to appear before the police station in the city in connection with the controversial “beep”song.

In a letter to the Race Course Police station, T Rajendran, father of Simbu, who received flak for his song, particularly from women folk, has sought to postpone the questioning to some other day, police said.

Meanwhile, Anirudh Ravichandran, a music composer, in his letter has said that he has not composed the song and the case against him should be withdrawn, they said.

“it is neither my composition nor my lyrics and I am not the singer”, he said on Face Book posts and sought to revoke the case against him. He said that he is away in Canada.

However, a letter that was purportedly written by T Rajendran and was in circulation in the cyber space revealed that the Anirudh composed the song but had later deserted it and it was not used in any movie or album,

On behalf of Anirudh, two lawyers Senthil Kumar and Thyagaraj- met the police and handed over the letter.

Senior officials in the Station refused to comment on the issue.
