Single mother stabbed by co-worker in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A 38-year-old single mother from Palladam was hospitalised with serious injuries after multiple stabs from her co-worker over a dispute, said the police.

R Pushpa Rani of Panappalayam in Palladam worked in a knitwear unit in Vidyalayam. A widow, she has a daughter. She requested 38-year-old Raj who worked in the same unit to help her get a job, said the police.

The police added that she had gone out with him on Thursday when, as they neared the district collectorate, they had a dispute. Raj, who hailed from Chengalpet, stabbed her multiple times, using a knife before fleeing the spot.

Pushpa Rani was rushed to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.
